our story
The finest in local cooking
Desposito's began as Walton's Seafood, a humble market that catered to locals and Tybee Island visitors. The Thunderbolt property was purchased in the 1960's by Italian dockworker Carlos Desposito. After his passing in 1982, wife Walton and stepson David Boone took over the operation to keep Desposito's dream for casual, delicious local seafood alive. After extensive renovations and the addition of a large riverview bar lead by Michelle Smith, managing partner, Desposito's legacy continues today. It's still a favorite where friends and family gather for good times, great company, and the freshest seafood around.
